Dolores (Kloesel) De La Fuente passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026 and was surrounded by her daughters, sons-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in her final days. The good Lord blessed her with 95 years, 4 months, and 30 days of life.

Dolores was born in Weimar, Texas on April 8, 1931, to Henry and Adela Michalek Kloesel. She lived in Sedan, Schulenburg, Houston, Cypress and spent her final years living with each of her daughters in Hockley, Texas.

Dolores had one sister, Gladys (Kloesel) Surman, whom she dearly loved and remained close with until Gladys’ passing in 2025. She attended elementary school in Sedan’s two-room schoolhouse and graduated from Schulenburg High School in 1949.

Just after high school, Dolores married Fred William Guenther on September 19, 1949. They were married at the young age of 18 and started a family one year later. They were blessed with two daughters – Linda and Shirley Guenther and were married for 7 years.

Dolores re-married at the age of 26 to Adam “Tiny” De La Fuente on January 19, 1958 and moved to the north side of Houston where she lived for 46 years. Dolores was a devoted mother and raised her daughters with a strong Catholic faith. She was a long-time parishioner and actively volunteered at Assumption Catholic Church in Houston. She worked full-time at Richmond Manufacturing for many years as a bookkeeper/clerical assistant and later worked part-time with Gallo Court Reporting Services until she was well into her eighties.

Dolores and Tiny enjoyed spending time with their 5 grandchildren, often having them over to spend the night and taking them to some of their favorite restaurants – Joe Matranga’s, El Charrito, and Barbeque Inn. Dolores was a devoted wife, taking care of Tiny through several medical issues until he passed away in 1999.

Dolores moved to Cypress in 2004 to be closer to her daughters. She attended weekly mass and volunteered at St. Anne Catholic Church in Tomball. She lived independently until she was 92 years old, exercising daily, enjoying polka dancing on the weekends, taking vacations with her daughters’ and sisters’ families, and enjoying precious time with her 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her daughters cared for her in her final 3 years, where she was surrounded by the love of her family, whom she loved so dearly.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, and her sister. Memories of Dolores will continue to be cherished by her daughter, Linda and husband Ed Denison; her daughter, Shirley and husband Larry Shook; her grandchildren – Trey Denison and wife Stacy; Tracy Judson and husband Kevin; Trina Bentley and husband Taylor; Jason and Jennifer Shook; and her great-grandchildren – Joshua, Hope and Hannah Denison; Nathan, Tyler and Alyssa Judson; Easton, Avery and Levi Bentley; Ethan and Perri Shook; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will join together to celebrate the life of Dolores at the following services:
