Obituary

Dodie Ann Rutherford Lilley was born March 3rd, 1963 in Pasadena, Texas. It has pleased our Father in Heaven to summon Dodie to Himself on July 5th, 2020 at the age of 57 years old.

Dodie was the daughter of Roger Rutherford and Joyce Ruff, and sister to Cheri Martin and Rich Rutherford, all whom she loved dearly. Growing up she attended many schools in the Houston area up to Jersey Village High School where she enjoyed playing and lettered on the high school tennis team.

She is preceded in death by her parents Roger and Joyce, mother-in-law Val Lilley, and nephew Joshua McGraw and survived by her loving husband, Chad, son, Conner, sister, Cheri Martin and husband Derek, brother, Rich Rutherford, in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dodie was very smart and goal oriented. She was also a very positive and fun loving person to be around which is why she has made so many wonderful and life long friends. She went on to start a 31 year long career with Wells Fargo bank where she was a personal banker for many years; then later moved into commercial banking. June 20th, 1992 she married her husband Chad Lilley which has led to 28 wonderful years of marriage. During this time she accomplished many of her goals, but she also accomplished her greatest goal in life which wasn't easy due to some complications. Thanks to her determination and IVF their little miracle Conner was born on April 17th, 2000. Her joys in life, besides watching her son grow up, is being at the pool, vacationing with family and friends, her 2 dogs Leo and Harper and just sitting out in the driveway with close friends and neighbors. Unfortunately, she was diagnosed with brain cancer on May 21 and after battling strong for several weeks the cancer proved to be too aggressive. Dodie Lilley will be truly missed by her family and friends, but her smile will always be in their hearts and memories forever!!
