Obituary

Dillon James May

January 22, 1993 – February 12, 2020

Filled with exuberance, love and laughter, Dillon James May of Spring, Texas, created joy and a good-natured goofiness in every room he entered. There is no doubt that the angels welcomed him to his heavenly home, embracing him with laughter and a celebratory dance when he shed his earthly form on February 12, 2020. From his keen salesmanship which led to a successful career as an IT Recruiter to his willingness to join street dancers in revelry, Dillon's zest for life compelled him to approach every challenge with humor and an unwillingness to accept less than his absolute best; he inspired those around him to the same excellence. On October 12, 2011, Dillon was born again when he gave his heart to Jesus Christ. He emulated Christ-like love and acceptance for others—friends, family, strangers, and animals. Dillon's vibrant spirit illuminated the room, bringing people together and putting everyone at ease even in difficult situations. Everyone who knew Dillon, loved him, and his absence will leave an incredible void. The family prays that his spirit and legacy will live on in the many lives of those who will receive his organs.

A gifted athlete, dancer, and singer, Dillon was born January 22, 1993 in Daly City, California. He graduated from Klein Oak High School in 2011. Dillon is survived by his mother Elizabeth Maida, Spring, TX; father Jeff May, Deep River, CT; sister Crystal (Sissy) Dozier and fiancé Chris Curia, Houston, TX; brother Lance Flynn, Austin, TX; niece and nephew Jordan and Christopher Dozier; grandmothers Carole DeCuir Maida, Marilyn Guffey; grandfather Tom Edgerly; aunts Kathy Maida-Smith, Cecilia Maida, uncles Christopher Maida III., Robert May Jr.; many cousins; and more friends than one can count. Dillon is preceded in death by his beloved grandfathers, Christopher Maida II and Bob May, grandmother Lucille Edgerly and his loving aunt Lisa May.

As we gather to celebrate Dillon's life and the impact he made on our lives, we will honor his memory by smiling at strangers, lending a helping hand to others, dancing through life and living with zest.
