Dien Van Nguyen was born on December 11, 1961 in Saigon, Vietnam. He was the oldest son out of eight children. Mr. Nguyen left Vietnam in 1980 and came to the United States in 1982. Thru hard work, he learned English and obtained a new career in auto mechanic. He and his wife, Ngoc-Anh Dinh, raised 3 daughters and 2 sons. He was a religious man that constantly encourage everyone to obtain a higher education. He was also an active member of two Catholic churches, Our Lady of Lourdes and Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, football, eating, and spending time with his family. In his younger years, he worked hard to raise his family and later on he travel to different areas of the world to learn of different cultures and how they praised God.
He was a loving, caring, and generous man that loved to gamble but always lost. He was always giving money to the homeless and willing to help the elderly. Mr. Nguyen enjoyed loud crowds and loved making others laugh. He was also a stubborn man that would not succumb to his circumstances. When he found out that he was diagnosis with lung cancer, he continued to work until he became disable. Even then he refused to quit, he tried his best to do as much as he could on his own. His therapists were always amazed as to how strong he was and how willing he was to push himself to try to walk again. Even at the end without words, he made gestures to make his loves laugh.
On Sunday, September 10, 2017, he passed away. He is survived by his wife, Ngoc-Anh Dinh, their five children and three grand children.
