Diane DeJonge McLean, 67, of Houston, died on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from injuries sustained in an unexpected vehicle accident in Houston, Texas.
Diane was born April 27, 1950, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the oldest daughter to Simon and Mary DeJonge. Later in life, she moved to Colorado where she met and married her husband, Terry McLean, in Denver on May 28, 1977. Soon after, they moved to Houston, Texas, to raise their two children, Drew McLean and Missy Bludau. Diane has been an active Houston resident for 35 years.
Diane was heavily involved in the Bear Creek United Methodist Church, Northwest Assistance Ministries, and the Hearthstone community. She made a lasting impression on everyone and everything she was involved with, but most important by being a loving DeeDee to her three grandchildren, Casen and Collins Bludau and Meyer McLean.
She is survived by her husband, Terry McLean; son, Drew McLean and his wife Emily; daughter, Missy Bludau and her husband Jason; and three grandchildren, Casen and Collins Bludau and Meyer McLean. She also leaves behind her parents, Simon and Mary DeJonge; brother, Mike DeJonge and his wife Christie; sister, Jeanne Kleeb and her husband Lynn; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends are cordially invited to visit with the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 21, at Klein Funeral Home - CyFair Northwest, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, TX 77065. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 16000 Rippling Water, Houston, TX 77084.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Diane may be made to the American Heart Association.
