Diane's life began in Brenham, TX on November 18th, 1949. She was the firstborn of Herman and Emma Jean Maass. A year later her sister, Shirley, was born. And the year after that, her sister Cookie completed their family. The three blonde sisters were inseparable and wherever you saw one, the other two weren't far behind.

Diane met the love of her life, Mike, in high school and they married in 1968. While Mike was away in the service, Diane had their first child, Angie. Five years later, along came their son, Heath.

"Doing hair" wasn't just a skill of Diane's, it was her calling. Clients who sat in her chair became treasured lifelong friends. The Hardy home had a revolving door with those who stopped by for a perm or a cut and some good ol' southern hospitality. Diane welcomed all who entered and was always quick to offer a "chip-and-a-coke" and she never took no for an answer!

Diane was a doting mother and Deedee. You'd often see her driving the entire soccer and baseball teams in her big green van and she was the first to volunteer at her church and the school for whatever was needed. She truly did it all and loved every bit of it! All that enthusiasm came in handy when her grandsons, Collin and Kyle were born. She loved on her grandsons every chance she got!

Diane's spirit of grace remained with her to her very last breath. In her final years, even amid loss and health challenges, her faith in the Lord remained strong. We rejoice that she's now in the arms of Jesus with Mike and Angie.

Deedee was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
