Diana Ramos March 8, 1946 – March 22, 2022 We are heartbroken by the loss of our beloved wife, mom, and Mamo, Maria Diana Ramos. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 22, 2022. We are honored to reflect on her life with you today.

Diana Ramos leaves behind a loving husband Joe Ramos, daughter Amy Ramos, daughter Nora Ann "Gogi" Contreras, son-in-law Victor Contreras, son, Joe Ramos III, daughter-in-law Laura Ramos and grandchildren, Brisa Ray, her husband Corey Ray, Victor Gabriel Contreras, Joey IV, and Nicholas Ramos. She was predeceased by her parents Fidencio and Lamar Ruiz, her in-laws, Jose and Maria "Cuca" Ramos, her siblings Fred Ruiz Jr., Lydia Moncevais, and Reynaldo Ruiz.

Diana was born on March 8, 1946, in Alice Texas to Fidencio and Lamar Ruiz. She attended Alice High School, was in the National Honor Society, in the Orange Jackets Pep Squad, and in the Future Homemakers of America club. She met Joe at an Alice Coyote football game where they flirted, started dating and fell in love. Diana and Joe were married on January 13, 1963.

They moved to Aransas Pass to begin their life together, but destiny had a new path for them to take. An adventure that would take them to several different cities and states. Joe applied to become a Texas Game Warden. He was accepted to attend the Texas Parks and Wildlife Academy at Texas A&M University in College Station. After graduation, Diana packed up their belongings in one car and moved to San Antonio Texas. During that time, Diana was a radio dispatcher for the Game Wardens in the San Antonio area. She manned the radio at all hours of the night and maintained a full-time daytime job. San Antonio was their home for 7 years. As a couple, Diana and Joe moved from San Antonio to Del Rio, Texas, Alexandria, Virginia, Nogales, Arizona, McAllen, Texas, and finally Houston, Texas.

In Nogales, Diana began working as a junior accountant for an international instrument company named Conn's - Artley Coinart, a musical instrument company that also had a manufacturing plant in Nogales, Sonora Mexico. Diana earned the respect of her fellow employees and management and worked her way up to a management position in the accounting department. She remained a faithful employee for 10 years.

From Nogales, they packed up and moved to McAllen Texas. Diana started substitute teaching and quickly earned the position of the Time and Attendance Clerk at Garza Elementary School.

Finally, they moved to Houston Texas, where they call home. Diana worked at Kroger's Corporate Floral accounting department. A few years later, Joe retired from the Department of Interior as a Federal Game Warden at which time Diana decided it was time to retire as well. Ending a 35-year journey of working hard and relocating. They were going to enjoy their retirement... Unable to sit around and enjoy retirement, they started the Joe Ramos HotShot company for oil companies. Diana did all the accounting and dispatching for the company and even helped drive and ride along on the runs all across the United States. With each relocation, Diana always worked. She left her mark at each place of employment as a dedicated employee and was well-liked by her coworkers.

Diana was an avid bowler and Bingo player. She loved watching NBA, MLB, and the NFL. Diana knew players names, STATS, and personal tidbits of her favorite and least favorite players. If she could not watch a game live on TV, she would record it so she could watch it later. Diana also loved watching movies, old westerns, and game shows. At 10:00 a.m. you could bet the Price Is Right was on and at 6:30 p.m. you knew Wheel of Fortune would be on as well.

Cleanliness was next to Godliness. Diana was always dressed pretty, she had her hair and make-up done, and her nails manicured in "Mamo red". She loved jewelry and perfume. We all have a fragrance memory of her. At one time, her fragrance of choice was Nina Ricci and currently her favorite fragrance was Tiffany. It was important to her to keep a clean and tidy house. There was always extra food and supplies in the pantry. The Ramos household did not run out of paper goods during Covid quarantine.

Diana and Joe recently celebrated 59 years of marriage. In that time, Diana lived a good life with a loving husband who took care of her until the end of her time on earth. They loved each other very much! Together, they were blessed with 3 children and 4 grandchildren and were known as Mamo and Popo which became MaPo.

Diana fiercely loved her family! She was known to us as mom and Mamo and was the pillar of our family. She would move heaven and earth to do anything for us and we all felt her love every moment of every day. Words cannot express the pain we feel.

We will celebrate her life as a family in a private ceremony. We ask that you keep her memory in your hearts and our family in prayer.
