Derrell Holliday was born on August 10, 1951 to Norman and Olene Holliday in New Orleans Louisiana. He grew up a Louisiana country boy; hunting, fishing, and causing a little trouble.

When Derrell was in High School, he met the love of his life; a very sweet and shy, Becky Rogers. They were married in a simple backyard wedding on June 19, 1971. They moved to Houston and spent 52 years building an incredible life together.

In 1975 Derrell and Becky started their family, they had two red headed children together, Clint and Jolleen. Derrell fiercely loved his family. He made sure they were well taken care of and taught them the important things in life, the three F's: always be friendly, fair and firm. He loved the great outdoors and everything it had to offer. They spent every weekend at their camp on Lake Livingston or way out West in Ozona on the deer lease. Having a camp was important to him, because that is where the best memories were made. When his grand babies came along, Katelin, Emma and Ella, he taught them these same life lessons.

Derrell was a hardworking man and with the help of Becky he was able to achieve every goal he had in life. In the early 80's they started a lawn maintenance company with the goal of being semi-retired at the age of 40. By the time Darrell turned 40 they were able to buy land and begin building their Boat and RV Storage business. This allowed them to have the freedom to do the things that truly brought them joy.

Derrell's greatest passions were spending time with family and friends. He loved to hunt and fish and traveled the world doing just that. He loved having little projects to keep him busy. He enjoyed cutting up and telling stories around a fire, with a drink in his hand and family and friends by his side. His laughter is something we will never forget. He enjoyed the simple things in life and truly was one of a kind. His advice was solid as a rock, whether you asked for it or not. Derrell was full of love, truth, honor and courage. Derrell Holliday was everything a man should be.

Derrell James Holliday left this world on February 27 ^th 2023 to rest in peace with our Lord in Heaven. His presence here on earth will dearly be missed by many.

Derrell was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Olene Holliday and brother Joe Holliday. He is survived by his wife Rebecca R. Holliday, son Clint Holliday, daughter Jolleen Holliday, and three grandchildren; Katelin Holliday, Emma Holliday and Ella Post. He is also survived by his sister Barbara Graham.
