Dennis Waibel passed away peacefully on April 28 th ,2021 in Houston, Texas. He was 78 years old at the time of his death, having bravely fought a prolonged battle with pancreatic cancer. He was one of three children born in Erie, Pennsylvania, to Theodore and Irene Waibel.
After his high school graduation in 1960, Dennis served his country honorably in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Germany. Following his service, he returned to the U.S. to pursue his higher education, graduating from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in chemical engineering.
He was active with his children as a youth coach and scout leader for many years in Mobile, Alabama. He enjoyed travel, photography, and golf during his free time. After his initial retirement, he opened his own consulting firm which afforded him opportunities for travel around the world for both work and pleasure.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Richard, and his sister Susanne. He is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Dawes, his sons Brett and David, and his four beloved grandchildren, Brodie, Lauren, Kyleigh and Kristen.
Friends are invited to visit with family on Wednesday, May 5 th , from 6 to 8pm., at the Klein Funeral Home at 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Klein, TX 77379. A private funeral service for family will be held on Thursday, May 6 th at 12:30pm at the Houston National Cemetery.
