Dennis Schmitt, 82, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2026. Born on August 1, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland, to Milton and Freda Schmitt, Dennis and his family eventually moved to Cincinnati, Ohio, where he graduated from the University of Cincinnati with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.

Dennis spent his early career as a Chemist at Procter & Gamble, where he and his team made history as the first chemists to add sparkles to toothpaste. He later transitioned to a career as a pharmacist for Walgreens, where he dedicated 32 years of service and eventually retired as a District Manager.

Outside of his professional life, he pursued a wide range of interests, including flying as a private pilot, golfing, woodworking, and gardening. He also possessed a beautiful singing voice and shared his love of music as a member of a barbershop quartet. Generous with his time, he spent 15 years volunteering at HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress, and worked as a marshall, starter, and groundskeeper at Black Horse and Longwood Golf Courses. Above all, he will be remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to his family.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Donna Broerman Schmitt; his daughters, Lisa, Kristin, and Allison; his grandchildren, Anthony, Brittany, Brandon, Colton, Jared, Lucy, Makenzi, Roxy, Stephanie, and Zachary; his great-grandchildren, Felicity Faith, Issac, Ivy Love, Mary Grace, and Zoey; and his brothers, Barry and Doug.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Klein Funeral Home, Champions (16131 Champion Forest Dr), with the funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow at 3:30 PM at Klein Memorial Park, Spring-Klein (9714 FM 2920).

Serving as pallbearers are Colton Wheat, Brandon Wheat, Makenzi Rosales, Jared Rosales, Doug Schmitt, Steve Croes, Randy Morehead, and Bill Simmons, with Barry Schmitt and Andre Aviles serving as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a donation in Dennis' memory to UT MD Anderson Cancer Care Center .
