Dennis Huffman, 66, passed away on September 11, 2025, in Houston, Texas, the city where he was born and spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the community he cherished.

Born on May 16, 1959, in Houston, Dennis was a proud Texan through and through. He attended Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic School from first grade through twelfth grade, laying the foundation for a life rooted in faith, loyalty, and perseverance. After high school, Dennis continued his education at Texas Lutheran University, where he also played football—an early testament to his love of sports and team spirit.

Professionally, Dennis built a successful career as an insurance agent for over three decades. His dedication and work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues and clients alike. In the last 15 years of his career, Dennis launched his own appraisal business where he continued to thrive. His hard-working spirit and commitment to excellence were evident in every endeavor he pursued.

Dennis was a man who lived life with warmth and generosity. He had an infectious laugh that could light up any room and a sense of humor that endeared him to everyone he met. Known for never meeting a stranger, Dennis had a unique ability to make people feel like family. Whether you were a lifelong friend or someone he just met at the bowling alley or ballpark, you were welcomed into his circle with open arms.

He found great joy in simple pleasures—bowling in local leagues, cheering on the Houston Astros and Texans (or really any sport that happened to be on), and most especially spending time with his beloved granddaughter Luna. Playing with her brought him immeasurable happiness; she was truly the light of his life.

Dennis is survived by his devoted wife and soulmate of 43 years, Debra "Debbie" Huffman; his son Jayson Huffman; daughter Chelsea Huffman (Tony); and cherished granddaughter Alice Luna. He also leaves behind his brother Averill Huffman (Dorothy), sister Davey Huffman; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will miss him deeply.

He was preceded in death by his father Averill O. Huffman; mother Lucille Barnes Huffman; and in-laws Earl D. and Barbara Brown.

Dennis's legacy is one of kindness, laughter, loyalty, and love—a life well-lived and deeply felt by all who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to those who carry it forward.
