Dennis Keith Eck was welcomed with open arms by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 18, 2023. Our hearts are filled with sorrow, but also with hope because we know he is at peace and resting in the embrace of God. Dennis was born December 12, 1959, in Alton, Illinois. He was the fourth child of Richard and Mary Jo Eck. They knew when they saw those sparkling blue eyes that they were in for an adventure.

All of his life, Dennis was full of energy and had a need for adventure and speed which was displayed while riding his Harley and driving his Porsche. He had a can-do spirit in life and work. Soon after high school, Dennis moved to Houston, Texas. He started a career and met Robin, his wife of 37 1/2 years. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters, Allison and Abigail. Dennis worked long and hard proving to be an excellent provider for his girls. He also spent many hours (over 20 years) working with the youth group of Calvary Community Church. He truly loved spending time with the youth. He would say he never wanted to grow up and it was a perfect fit.

He spent his 40 year career in the welding gas and equipment industry with Tech Weld, Airgas, National Alloy and Equipment, and finally, Praxair. All through his career, he volunteered with the American Welding Society where he held many offices throughout his 35 years of volunteering. Currently, he was serving as the AWS President for 2023 which was one of the highlights of his life. Dennis was also a member of the FBI Citizen's Academy which we all thought was pretty cool.

Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Richard Eck, grandparents, and a special niece, Jennifer Caveny Briesacher. He is survived by his wife Robin; his daughters Allison Ray and husband Alex, and Abigail Bieniawski and husband Alec; four magnificent grandsons, Kayden Ray, Zion Ray, Legend Ray and Iver Bieniawski; his mother Mary Jo Eck; his mother-in-law Margaret Corley; his siblings Diane Newton and husband Tom, Dean Eck and wife Roberta, Denise Antley and husband Loye, and Dawn Caveny and husband Mike; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Dennis expressed his love by being a helper to all and by being a faithful servant of Jesus. He was loved and will be missed by so many, but we know we will meet again.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, September 21, at Community of Faith, 16124 Becker Road, Hockley, Texas. There will be a reception following the service at the church. We welcome all of our family and friends to celebrate Dennis's life.
