Dennis Curry, loving son and brother, proud father to four children, beloved grandfather, and uncle to many nieces and nephews, passed away on October 11, 2021, at age 70.
Dennis was born July 20, 1951, in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Willard Curry and Georgena (Gosselin) Dilts. He graduated Class of 1970 from Chesaning High School in Chesaning, Michigan. Upon graduating high school, Dennis went on to serve in the United States Marine Corp where he became Staff Sergeant. He dedicated 17 years of his life to serving our great country. Following his service, Dennis called Texas home for over 30 years.
Dennis had a passion for art, movies and all things outdoors. He had a talent for writing stories and drawing. He loved movies, which is only fitting that he spent one of his final days at the theater viewing the newest James Bond movie. His love for outdoors led him to spend countless hours at "the Ranch" where he would hunt turkey and deer and try to catch fish. He had hoped to retire there one day very soon and his family plans to honor his dream of "living on the land."
Dennis's upbeat and positive personality was a light in so many peoples' lives. At work, frequented restaurants, the bank, Walmart, Traders Village, around his neighborhood, Church and the Cinemark movie theatre; he was a friend to all and stranger to none.
Dennis is survived by his four children; daughter Diana Curry and her children; Wallace (Tre'), Hannah; daughter Jennifer Curry and her children; Jerome, Asia, Ethan; son Dennis Curry Jr. and his wife Thuy Nguyen and daughter Gabriella; son James Curry; his brothers and sisters, Robert Curry and his wife Sandy, Karen Runie and her husband Richard, Mary Humpert, Cathy Mahoney, Steven Curry and his wife Lesli, Dale Dilts, and Kenneth Dilts.
He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Willard Curry and Georgena Dilts, and sister Debra Melchor.
The viewing will be held on Saturday, October 23rd, from 5-8pm at Klein Funeral Home located at 9719 Wortham Blvd, Houston, TX 77065.
A military service will be held at VFW Post 8905 in Cypress, Texas at a later date following his cremation. Dennis will then return home with his beloved family to his favorite places; Michigan with his mother, North Carolina with his children and Texas to "the Ranch."
