Dennis Wayne Bohman, 74, of Montgomery, TX, passed away at home on September 4 ^th , 2022.  Dennis was born November 30 ^th , 1947, in Shiner, Texas to the late Perry L. Bohman and Regina (Smith) Skinner.

Dennis spent his early life in Houston, TX in the Denver Harbor neighborhood and later in Humble, TX.

Dennis attended Aldine Schools where he made some of his life-long friends. He developed a love for hunting and fishing at an early age and he played baseball & basketball in high school. He graduated from Aldine High School in 1965.

Dennis married Linda Beth Zelenske on September 17, 1966. He was married to the love of his life for 55 years.

Dennis was a war hero; he completed two tours in Vietnam with the United States Army 101 ^st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Exceptionally Meritorious Achievement and the Bronze Star Medal for Meritorious Achievement in Ground Operations against Hostile Forces.

Dennis worked for the Houston Lighting and Power Company (known by that name then) for 37 years as a lineman, head lineman and crew boss. As part of this job, his crew was responsible for being first on the scene after hurricane damage in order to restore power to citizens as quickly as possible.

In 2014, Dennis and Linda moved to Dobbin, TX, where they lived on part of the land his mother's family had farmed. He loved his country life. His yard was immaculate and looked like a park. He found joy in gardening both flowers and vegetables.

Dennis was an avid fisherman, both salt and freshwater. Many of our fondest memories and funniest stories of him revolve around fishing.

When interviewed by a reporter from the Montgomery County News, asking what advice he had for young Americans, he replied, "Become thoroughly educated, an advantage no one can take away. And try early in life to seek a loving relationship with the Lord," a spiritual voyage that Linda helped Dennis complete during the course of their marriage.

Dennis met and made friends wherever he went. When we think of him, we see his grin and twinkling blue eyes. He had an impeccable sense of humor and wit. Dennis was genuinely enjoyable to be around; when you spent time with him, he would always find a way to make you laugh.

Dennis lived his life with honor and dignity; he gave away plants, vegetables, plant clippings, and fish that he caught. He was eager to share his fishing and gardening techniques with others.

Dennis loved spending time with his only grandchild, Karlie Bohman. He would spend time with her doing puzzles, riding on the lawn mower, gardening, and fishing.

Dennis was a war hero, a man of God, a devoted husband, a loving father, an attentive grandfather, and a loyal friend. He will be missed, but he left his mark on the world through service to God, his country, his community, and his family.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Linda Bohman; daughter Julie Bohman, son Damien (Amanda) Bohman; granddaughter, Karlie Bohman; sister, Donna (David) Dinsmore; nieces, Dana Dinsmore, Darbianna Dinsmore and nephew Dawson Dinsmore.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, September 11 ^th , 2022, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street.  Funeral Services will be held Monday, at 10:00 am at Klein Funeral Home,1400 west Main Street, with Reverend David Bailes officiating.  Interment to follow in Klein Memorial Park 2920.

Serving as pallbearers are David Dinsmore, Dawson Dinsmore, LaJohn Lay, Jerry Trevino, Robbie Zelenske, William J. Zelenske (Joey); honorary pallbearer Brian Parker.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Dennis' granddaughter, Karlie Bohman's education. Based on his love for Karlie and interest in her education, we feel Dennis would have deeply appreciated this gesture.
