Delores Marie (Helfrich) Kreitz, age 87, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. She was born on October 10,1936, in Hockley Texas.
Delores graduated from Waller High School in 1954. She attended business school and then began working for Oil Industries Life Insurance. On September 7, 1957, she married the love of her life, Wilfred (Buddy) Kreitz, at St. Annes Catholic Church in Tomball. The two then started their own dairy farm. For the next 20 years she spent her time supporting her three children as a stay-at-home mom and helped her husband operate their dairy farm. After Buddy and Delores sold their dairy farm, she went to work in 1977 for the Hockley Post Office. She met many people during her tenure working for the post office and loved going to work each day. She retired in 1997, after 20 years of service.
In her retirement years she enjoyed playing dominoes and taking trips with the Hockley Community Center. Another favorite hobby of hers was going to casinos with friends and family. She loved helping Buddy in the garden raising fresh vegetables. She was an avid Houston Astro's baseball fan, loved to listen to polka and classic country western music and enjoyed watching many game shows on tv. She loved spending time at the family lake house on Lake Livingston where she spent many hours fishing and boating. One of her greatest joys was spending time with family especially her grandkids and great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Wilfred (Buddy)Kreitz; parents, Martin and Luella Helfrich; brother, Milton Helfrich and sister, Leona Helfrich.
Delores is survived by her daughter, Diane Wishkoski and husband Donald; son, Kevin Kreitz and wife Ginny; son, Brian Kreitz; grandson, Curtis Wishkoski and wife Cherie; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wishkoski; grandson, Jonathan Kreitz; great-granddaughters, Summer Rudel and Rylee Wishkoski; great-grandson, Jacob Wishkoski and numerous nieces and nephews.
