Obituary

On Sunday, December 9, 2018, Delina Marie Volkerding, loving daughter, sister and friend, passed away at the age of 51.
Delina was born in Chicago, but raised a Texan in Spring, Texas. She attended Trinity Lutheran School, Klein Oak High School and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stephen F. Austin State University.  Delina and her husband, Johnny moved to Austin, Texas after graduation where she worked as an Administrative Assistant for the Four Seasons Hotel.
Delina was well known for her feisty and strong-willed personality.  She had a unique sense of style and a flare for fashion.  She was an extremely loyal friend, once you were her friend she stayed by your side through thick and thin. Delina also had a passion for horses, Shelties, Stephen King novels and Science Fiction movies.
Delina was preceded in death by her husband Johnny Sanders.  She is survived by her mother, Donna Volkerding, her father Donald Volkerding and his wife Marian Volkerding, her two sisters Danielle Evans and Dawnya Simmons,  her step-brother, David Gaines-May as well as her niece and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 29 , 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church at 5201 Spring Cypress Rd at 10:30 am .  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Legacy Community Health, Attention: Claudette Guerro P.O. Box 66308 Houston, Texas 77266 .
