Debra Faye Mohajer passed away September 13th 2026 surrounded by her family in st. Luke’s hospital.

Born November 5th 1955 to her father Ferdie Joseph Lyons and mother Louisiana Marie Lyons from church point, Louisiana.

She joins her mother and father as well as her siblings Gloria Wimberly, Elaine Nation and Norma Burleigh

She will be remembered by her husband Kazem John Mohajer and their children Michael Mohajer, Leila Mohajer, Megan Mohajer and Soriya Mohajer. As well by her son in-law Matthew Underwood husband of Megan Mohajer plus her grandchildren Alexander Underwood, Freya underwood and Conan underwood. She is also remembered by her siblings Kenneth Lyons, Eloise David and Dwaine Lyons.

On Thursday August 17, 1978 around 1:17 at the student union campus of University of Southwest Louisiana is where Debra and John’s story began. “Can I sit here” are the first words she spoke to him. “Of course “ he welcomed her as she sat down. It was love at first sight. Their love for each other grew strong as they decided to make a life together. They got married on May 20, 1982. They honored their vows as promised and made it for 44 years of marriage.

Debra loved the Lord and found great joy in sharing the love of Jesus with those around her. She had a creative spirit and loved singing, painting, drawing and writing. Above all, she cherished her family. They were the heart of her world and the reason she fought courageously after surviving her stroke.

Debra had a beautiful smile that reflected the warmth of her soul and with that she had a way of making others feel deeply loved and seen. Her hugs were unforgettable..the kind that made you feel safe, comforted and completely wrapped in love. To know Debra was truly a blessing. Her strength, determination and resilience were an inspiration to those who knew her and through every hardship her love for her family and her faith remained unwavering.

She leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and creativity as well as strength that will live on through those who loved her. She will be deeply missed on this side of Heaven.

She will be having a private memorial service with her family in Louisiana.
