Deborah Lynn Graham, 71, of Plantersville, Texas passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at Northwest Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Deborah was born June 12, 1951 to Allen and Lou Waltman in Houston, Texas. She attended McArthur High School. While in high school she worked at Kerr Steamship Company. Also, while in high school, she was given an English assignment to write to a person in the service. It was then she was given the name, Gary Graham, whom she wrote to for a year. Gary arrived home from Vietnam on December 23, 1969. His first date with Deborah was December 27, 1969. He walked up to the door and knocked. When she answered the door he told her he didn't like red heads. But, she went to the military ball with him anyway. Six months later, on June 6, 1970, Gary and Deborah married in a beautiful ceremony in Houston, Texas. Shortly thereafter, they moved to Atlanta, Georgia where Gary served in the Army. Their first child, John, was born in May of 1971 and in October of 1971, they moved back to Houston.
Upon returning back to Houston, Deborah went to work for Houston National Gas where she worked for 15 years. During that time she had Brandie, Kimberly, and Leslie. Then, The Grahams moved to Weimar where Deborah went to work for Epic Realty about a year. Then in 1995, she worked for DHL until they closed operations, and in 1996, the family decided to move to Plantersville, Texas, where she decided to be a stay-at-home mom and housewife until 2011 or 2012 when she went to work for Walmart in Hempstead where she was working at the time of her passing.
Deborah and Gary had celebrated their 52 wedding anniversary June 6, 2022. Deborah was a doting wife and mother who loved and adored her children and grandchildren with her full heart. She had two grandsons: Jarred and Kaden whom she cherished and were very proud of.
Throughout her life she has greatly enjoyed Houston Texans and Astros games, crosstiching and church activities with her church family. She was a member of Prairie Garden Baptist Church in Houston, Texas for many years and at the time of her passing she was a member of Second Chance Community Church pastored by Angel Padilla, for the last 25 years.
Deborah is proceeded in death by her parents: Allen and Lou Waltman, and her sister Carolyn. She is survived by her husband Gary Graham, son John Graham (Plantersville, TX), daughters Leslie Graham and Kimberly Graham (Plantersville, TX), daughter Brandie Peeples and husband Kevin (Clear Lake, TX) and grandsons Jarred Graham (Plantersville, TX) and Kaden Peeples (Clear Lake, TX).
