Deborah Lynne Clay (Debby) 63, passed away peacefully in her sleep, on Monday, November 4th at her home in Spring, TX
Debby descended into this world on Friday, April 14th, 1961, as the first-born child to proud parents, Donald and Joyce Hovarter. She was raised in the small suburban town of Plymouth, Michigan. After graduating high school, Debby made her way to Houston, TX and started working for United Parcel Service in 1981, where she met her other half, Derwin Vondale Clay.  Their destined relationship blossomed from that point forward.
Debby began showing symptoms of Multiple Sclerosis in late 1994. By early 1995, the diagnosis became official: Secondary Progressive MS. While such a debilitating course of MS causes some, to see extreme hardships, this was not the case with Debby & Derwin. They dove right in on educating themselves and preparing for a new direction in their lives. Debby and Derwin entered wedlock on Saturday, April 10th, 1999, at the clubhouse in their neighborhood. Starting late in their relationship, along with the new MS medications, they were precluded from their opportunity to begin a family.
Cita M. Bowen joined the family in 2003 as our close friend and later became a valued and loved caretaker for Debby. Assisting in the daily care and love of our 'Pumpkin'. Cita brought Joy and Laughter to Debby in ways that only a true 'girlfriend' could.
Debby was preceded in her transition by her loving mother, Joyce E. Andree. She is survived by her loving father Donald Hovarter, and his wife Doris. Her loving brother, Scott, and her loving sister Pamela, along with a host of in-laws, extended family and friends
I'm sure that countless members of the broken-hearted have attempted to share the depth of their love lost, using art, music and literature. Unfortunately, I don't possess such gifts. And as Debby ascends back upward, to be with our Heavenly Father once more, I will say this: In its simplest terms –Debby has been, and until we see each other again, will ALWAYS be – THE MUSE OF MY LIFE
