Obituary

Deborah Kay Bannahan, 71, of Houston, Texas, was a caring, loving, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  On Tuesday, August 24, 2021, she passed away peacefully with her husband, William Lee Spratt, faithfully by her side.

Deborah was born to Elmer and Marietta Feldhousen on November 24, 1949.   After graduating from Galena Park High School and Southwest Texas State University, she invested herself in her career with the Internal Revenue Service in Houston, Texas, where she met and made many of her lifelong friends.  She was one of the most giving and generous people to walk this earth and her family was blessed with loving tokens of her spirited generosity.

Despite all evidence to the contrary, Deborah enjoyed spending time in the kitchen, especially when it precipitated the opportunity to share time with her family, especially her three grandchildren.  After her retirement from the public service, she developed a bit of a green thumb and began growing and raising plumeria plants alongside her husband.  Her passion for nurturing plants and relationships with her friends and family will be part of her everlasting legacy.

Left to cherish Deborah's memory are her husband, William Spratt of Houston, Texas; son Jason and wife Eneyda Bannahan and their children Colt, Caleigh, and Cason of Cypress, Texas; sister Jill Arthur, nephew Blake Arthur and niece Ashley Ochs of Midland, Texas; sister Kim Wells and brother-in-law Andy Wells, nephew Ryan and wife Sarah Wells, niece Loren Wells, and nephew Matthew Wells of Bedford, Texas.

A memorial service officiated by Pastor Pam Cline, of Lakewood United Methodist Church, will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, October 11, 2021, at the Klein Funeral Home Chapel, 9719 Wortham Boulevard, Houston, Texas 77065.  A funeral procession for graveside service and urn committal will be held at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598, and is scheduled for 12:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Arthritis National Research Foundation in Deborah's name.

Philippians 3:20-21 But our commonwealth is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, who will change our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power which enables him even to subject all things to himself.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
