Deanna Marion Hodge Mickle, 82, departed for her heavenly home on September 30, 2025, after a long and devoted life filled with love, faith, and family.

Born in Houston, Texas, in 1943, Deanna spent much of her career working alongside her husband, but her true passion lay in genealogy. She devoted countless hours to researching her own family history and helping others discover their roots through her service in the church genealogy library. She also faithfully served as a secretary at the LDS Temple in Spring, Texas.

Beyond her work and service, Deanna lived a life rich with interests and creativity. She had a keen eye for antiques and would have been a remarkable dealer had the opportunity arisen. She loved musicals, classic films, crafts, and—above all—reading. When she became a grandmother, she could often be found cheering at little league games or riding the train at the zoo, sharing in her grandchildren's joy every chance she could.

A true-blue Texan through and through, Deanna found beauty in the landscapes of her home state. She never tired of the East Texas dogwoods or the fields of bluebonnets and Indian paintbrushes that marked springtime in the Hill Country. Some of her happiest moments were spent on a pontoon boat on Canyon Lake or relaxing along the Guadalupe River with her children and grandchildren.

She lived by the cherished belief that "Families are forever," and she displayed those words in her home as a constant reminder of what she held most dear. Deanna's warmth, faith, and love will live on eternally in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is survived by her eight children:  Monte L. (Linda), Sheila M. (Bill), Byron C. (Valerie), David M. (Amy), Liz Esch, Nathan R. (Nancy), W. Maurice (Hae-Joung), Wimberley A., as well as 18 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
