Obituary

Deanna Sue McCullough, 78, of Cypress, Texas went home to be with the Lord on January 24, 2025. Deanna valiantly lived with pulmonary fibrosis and made the most of every day she had with her husband, Doug, to whom she was married 51 wonderful years. A beloved wife, mother, and Nana, Deanna will be remembered for her faithful pursuit of Christ, a loving and infectious zest for life, her passionate love of all sports, and her endless teaching ability on numerous subjects.

Born on August 9, 1946 to William and Helen Coiner, Deanna was one of three daughters. She is survived by her sisters Lawana Perrault and Donna Anders. Deanna received her Bachelor's of Science from Oklahoma Christian University, her Master Degree from Oklahoma State University and her PHD from Oklahoma State University (although she was always a Sooner in her heart). Deanna taught for 29 years as an associate and a tenured professor in the Natural Sciences department at the University of Houston Downtown. She was fundamental in the development of both the Scholar's Academy and the College of Science and Technology, was an advisor to hundreds of students, and wrote and edited textbooks.

Deanna is survived by her husband, Doug McCullough, her daughter, Amanda Campbell and her husband Darin Campbell, and their three boys Brady, Jackie and Harrison, and her son Jared McCullough, his wife Staci McCullough and their children Murphy and Kollins. Deanna was loved by all and loved us all so well. She will be truly missed.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held to commemorate the life of Deanna at the Church of Christ in Jersey Village on February 15, 2025 at 11:00 am. A reception will follow where all are invited to stay and visit with the family.
