Dawn Burnett Giles was born in Lufkin, Texas on December 29th, 1970 to Claudia Burnett McKenzie and lovingly raised by Claudia and Tom McKenzie.

Dawn was a devoted Christian, wife and mother. She lived her life with her heart wide open and with a boundless capacity for loving others. Her smile was so genuine and warm that it could brighten the darkest day. You could never have a more loyal friend.
Dawn was baptized into Christ in 1992 and she spent much of her life encouraging others to come to know Him.
Along with making a home and raising her children, she was also a substitute teacher and pharmacy technician.

She developed chronic and limiting health issues but her great love for her family and love for life enabled her to battle through what most could not. That battle ended on May 7th, 2026, and now she is free and home.
She loved deeply and was deeply loved.

Dawn is survived by her husband Edgar Giles, daughter Lexi Giles, son and daughter-in-law Chase and Brianna Giles, son Logan Giles, mother Claudia McKenzie and brother and sister-in-law James and Renee McKenzie.
