Obituary

David Lee Votaw, loving husband and father of four children, passed away Wednesday, August 25th, at the age of 74.

David was born on May 28, 1947, in Aurora, Illinois to Glenn and Marcella Votaw. He married Barbara Modaff, literally, the girl next door. Together, they raised four children; Katie, Mary, Meg, and Tom. He was a wonderful and devoted father, who consistently imparted his values and principles upon his children. They share memories of a father who always put family first.

His faith was very important to him. He was a devoted Catholic who often served as a Eucharistic Minister, or as an Usher at St. Anne's Catholic Church. He valued a Catholic education for his children. He made several sacrifices to assure that his children had the opportunity to receive a Catholic education during their formative years.

He leaves a legacy of a strong commitment to his family as a husband, father, and grandfather as well as a decent and kind human being.

David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara, and his four children, Katherine Votaw Kelly (Patrick), Mary Votaw, Margaret Votaw Barnard (Cory), and Thomas Votaw (Denise). In addition, he is survived by his five grandchildren, Shannon and Sara Kelly, Dani and Philip Barnard, and Gabriela Votaw. He is also survived by his sister, Linda Votaw, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Marcella Votaw, and his brothers, Ronald and Dale Votaw.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, from 5 PM to 8 PM at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball, TX.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, September 01, 2021, at 11:00 AM at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Tomball, TX.
