Obituary

David Clayton Seymour, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2025, at the age of 58, while on a missions trip in Guanacaste, Costa Rica.

David Clayton Seymour was born on July 16,1966, in Papua, New Guinea, to missionary parents and lived a life filled with the deepest love for his family and faith. He was a devoted husband to Lora Seymour for 39 years and a loving father to Hannah Comedy (spouse Durell Comedy), Lydia Massop-Broomfield (spouse Jeremy Massop-Broomfield), Jonah Seymour, and Joel Seymour. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Harlow Comedy, Phoenix Comedy and Daisy Comedy, as well as his mother, Betty Seymour, and siblings, Martha Adams, Deborah MacKay, and Mark Seymour.

David Clayton Seymour was known for his kind smile, gentle eyes, and the love he extended to all. He was serving as the Missions Pastor at The Foundry Church and pastored churches across six states and five countries over the last 32 years. His greatest desire was to know, follow, and share the love of Jesus with everyone he met. He leaves behind a great legacy of love, kindness, and servanthood, and has forever impacted his family, friends, and community.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 5, at The Foundry Church, 8350 Jones Road, Houston, TX 77065. Friends are welcome to visit with the family beginning at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to The Foundry Church to support five churches in Costa Rica. Please be sure to designate your gift by selecting "In Memory of David Seymour/Costa Rica Missions."
