On Wednesday, August 5, 2020, David Andrew Salinas, loving son, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 29. David was born March 4th, 1991 in Houston, TX to Liz and Louis Salinas. He attended school at Klein Collins High School and the University of Houston. David was known for his abilities in carpentry, mechanical inclination, construction savviness, athletic talent, friendship, and as an absolute animal lover. David was also the kind of man that would literally give you the shirt off his back if you needed them.

David was the youngest of four boys and was often referred to as "King David" by his grandfather. He grew up loved by all and was constantly the center of attention of his brothers. All who saw him grow up and were involved in his life were surely blessed to have been so.

From a young age, David was involved in sports. He showcased his excellence in sports starting with baseball as a pitcher and catcher. He continued his sporting career with football and wrestling. During his senior year of high school, David won District for his 145lbs weight class in wrestling.

David also had a great passion for wood work and this allowed himself an outlet for his creativity. His work was so impressive that he was able to market his work to the community and working without templates allowed his family a window into his imagination.

Animals were a large part of David's life. From dogs to cats to ferrets, David loved all animals. He is responsible for saving the lives of at least two pups that would have otherwise been abandoned. He opened his heart to these animals, and Lexi and Disney are still living with us today.

He was known as Uncle David to his eight nieces and nephews. It wasn't uncommon for him to be regarded as the favorite uncle. David loved these children so much and did so much to be a positive part of their lives. He was what every kid wishes their uncle would be like.

Our David had nothing but love for his family and friends. He wanted only the best for everyone and offered his hand in friendship to all he met. Those who have known him will certainly recall his kindness, his affection, and his thoughtfulness and smile on those memories.

David is survived by his parents, Liz and Louis Salinas; his three brothers, Trey and wife Esther, Billy and wife Cassie, and Jeff; his nieces and nephews: Julian, Layla, Desmond, Vladimir, Naomi, Louie, Miles, and Teddy, his Aunt Madeline and Uncle James, Uncle Billy, and Aunt Gail and many cousins.

We love you, David, and will remember you adoringly for the rest of our lives.
