On August 2, 1948, David Charles Roberts was born to an unknown couple of Lynn, Massachusetts. He was adopted into a military family and continuously moved around throughout his school age years until his family settled in Nebraska for the latter years of his high school education. He graduated from Papillion High School in 1966 and proceeded to Wayne State College, where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education.

His adopted father was part of the US Air Force and David ultimately followed in those footsteps. He served with the US Air Force for twenty years, receiving continuous praise and recognition for his efforts and service. Following the Air Force, he flew with Evergreen International Airlines, making friends on every flight and anywhere he went. Upon retiring from Evergreen, he became a school bus driver for Conroe ISD. He carried thousands and thousands of pounds of cargo through the skies with Evergreen but the most precious cargo on the ground within Conroe ISD, and he loved every mile he went.

Along with flying and driving, David also had a passion for sailing. In his time off, he enjoyed spending time on his boat in the Gulf and also loved taking schooner cruises in the northeast, continuing to make friendships across the nation and along our coastal lines.

On Sunday, November 27, 2016, David's battle with cancer came to an end and he went on to be with the Lord and watch over us all from above. He woke for an early flight to Heaven, got onto the sailboat of his dreams to sail around the Big Blue above, and finished the day off with the most lovely Sunday evening drive. Camaraderie and travel were paramount in his life and he is so dearly missed by his family and friends. David was a gentle, humble, and loving man with the warmest of smiles and a contagious laugh.

David's inurnment will be at Houston National Cemetery on a date to be announced.

David's life will be remembered and celebrated on Saturday, December 10 th

at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at Grace Presbyterian in The Woodlands
