David Alan Richter was born in Houston on November 14, 1966. He passed away on April 30, 2017 in Spring, Texas at 50 years of age. He leaves behind his parents, Earl and Nita Richter, and sister, Linda Richter. Also, his Aunt Carol Holmes and husband Tommy; Uncle Barry Ousley and wife Lela; numerous cousins, and many friends.

David graduated from Klein Oak High School in Spring. He also attended Nimitz High School and Lone Star College. Later, David graduated from UTI in Automotive Technology. He worked in many fields including welding, auto repair, rebuilding cars/engines, and refurbishing equipment/appliances/bikes. While working at O'Reilly Auto Parts, he received many Awards from the Executive Committee for excellent customer service. David started his own business in 2014, but was too sick to pursue fully.

David was a very happy little boy, full of life and adventure. Every day was fun and exciting with David and his antics while he was growing up. He was intelligent, friendly, caring, compassionate, and had a great sense of humor. His parents and sister have many wonderful memories of long family vacations every summer to places all over the country. David had a passion for racing cars, fishing, cooking/grilling, and reading. He also enjoyed playing drums, going out on his boat, gazing at the stars with his giant telescope, tinkering with his cars and trucks, helping others with their vehicles, making chocolate chip cookies, music and concerts, visiting his friends, and helping those less fortunate, neglected, or in need (there were many over the years). In recent years, he taught himself to play guitar. David also rebuilt engines and cars, which he loved. He took the old family car (the 69 Chevy Chevelle) and converted it into a race car. David won many races and awards racing his favorite car of all times.

David passed away waiting on a lung transplant. Silicosis/interstitial lung disease took his life way too soon. David was extremely brave throughout his illness. He fought a courageous battle and never complained – his parents and sister are so proud of him. David received Jesus as Lord and Savior prior to his passing and his parents and sister are so grateful they will see him again one day. David touched many people's lives and many call him their best friend. His sister, Linda, and his Mom and Dad, remember how he asked about their favorite verses in the Bible just hours before he passed. David loved the book of Psalms. One of his best friends (since he was five years old) was able to spend an entire evening with him reminiscing about the fun times, playing video games, etc., the night before he passed. David told his mother, father, and sister, every single day, that he loved them very much. They also prayed together as a family several times while David was critically ill. These are cherished memories that his family will never forget. We (his family) loved David so much and miss him terribly.
