David Price Preston was born on the early morning of December 20, 1953 in Neosho, Missouri. David received his formal education at Neosho High School, where he not only excelled academically but was heavily involved in various social and extracurricular activities including numerous clubs, sports teams, was an Eagle Scout, and served his community. David studied Biology at the University of Missouri at Columbia and went on to graduate with a Water and Wastewater Technical degree, which he used throughout his life as a General Contractor.

David is preceded in death by his father Roy E. Preston and mother Nancy Jane Price. He is survived by his wife, Susan Preston, of 22 years; his daughters Sarah Elizabeth Preston, with his first wife, Kathryn Elizabeth Preston, and Nancy Ann Preston; his sister Ina Jane Harris & her husband Donald Harris; and his nephew Captain Price Matthew Harris & niece Olivia Jane Harris.

With over 30 years of business skills, leadership abilities, proactive response and knowledge of treatment plants and collections of wastewater, David started his career as a Wastewater Operator Trainer for the state of Iowa. By 1983, he developed into the owner and manager of ChemPure Laboratories in Lincoln, Nebraska. With leadership positions and multiple offers, he traveled the world to manage water treatment plants in various locations overseas. Working for the Egyptian Government, David managed as a supervisor for Holmes and Narver. In Somalia and Rwanda, he was the water and wastewater specialist for Brown and Root Engineering. In Saudi Arabia, he worked as a Water Treatment Project Manager on the King Khalid International Airport Project . Worked as an operations manager at a treatment plant in Singapore. Moving back into the United States, Susan and David owned and managed K's Restaurant from 1998 to 2002 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He then moved to Spain as a Project Manager for PAE Government Services on a US Air Force Base. In 2008, David worked for DZSP 21 on a US Naval Station on the island of Guam. Moving back into the United States, he held a project lead position for EASI/NASA at the White Sands Testing Facility. In his later years, he was a self employed consultant.

Among all of his accomplishments, his greatest achievements were his family and his travels. David enjoyed traveling throughout the world leaving an impact on each place he visited. He loved the diversity that accompanied the various cultures and local foods he experienced. His personal favorite places include: Cairo Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Afghanistan, Germany, Mexico, Hawaii, Spain, France, Italy, Tunis, Guam, the Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. One of his passions included helping those less fortunate and able than he was through any and every way he could. From early on in his life until later, you could always find him behind the lens of a camera documenting the people and events that mattered to him most. He will be dearly missed by his loved ones and friends from around the globe.
