David L. Potter

David Lowe Potter, born to Jack and Nancy Potter in Norwalk Ohio, grew up and graduated Highschool in Lakewood, a suburb of Cleveland, with brothers Kit and James.  David lived a full, rich, and wonderful life.

He attended Texas A&M University before enlisting in the United States Marine Corps. He proudly and honorably served  four years while promoting to the rank of corporal, before completing his businesses degree at Baldwin Wallace university.

David worked with his father at the Ford motor plant.  While working for Ford, he met and married his wife of 45 yrs., Carla R Potter, who proceeded him in death on Easter Sunday, 2020.  They moved to Houston in the late 70s and had two children, Kristina and John.

David worked and owned his own businesses, selling components to refineries in the oil and gas industry, before finding his calling asa special ED teacher in the Magnolia ISD.

His passion for teaching and love for his classroom and students truly made a difference.

He also served as a deacon, elder,  and treasurer at Cy Fair Christian Church, as well as Cypress Crossings Christian Church.  There, he also played his guitar and worked the sound board.  He continued serving at Community of Faith Church.  David was a devoted Christian and family man, always putting God and family first.

He coached little league for John and Kristina.  He was a den leader in Boy Scouts, mentor, and roll model.

David was a loving husband and enjoyed traveling with Carla.  He was always ready to go on the next adventure.

David loved his music.  He was a self-taught guitar player, and he would spend hours at home in the evenings, entertaining his family with songs.

David enjoyed watching football and baseball.  He was always cheering for his Browns and Texans in the fall, and his Astros and Indians in the spring.  David played golf almost weekly.  He also enjoyed working with his hands, tinkering and fixing things.  He spent many hours perfecting his skill of building model ships.  He enjoyed fishing and camping, and pretty much anything outdoors.

David loved spending time with his grandchildren He proudly watched his grandson, Gabriel, graduate naval boot camp and begin his career on a submarine.  He also enjoyed watching his grandson, Michael, win his wrestling meets.

David made fast friends with everyone he met.  He will be greatly missed by all.
