Obituary

David Edward Mauk, a proud 4th generation Houstonian, beloved Husband, father, brother and friend was called to His eternal home May 9th, 2026. Born February 20th, 1974 in Houston Texas to Callie and Bob Mauk and brother Michael attending Cypress Creek Highschool with his lifelong friends Donny Inglet and Tim Stokes. After graduation, he was a dog trainer, and loved dogs alongside his mentor Ron Wood. Shortly after he attended University of Houston, earning a bachelors degree in Spanish inspired by his Mammaw. While earning his bachelors, he worked parttime for EF Tree Service, where he learned he had a passion for trees. To achieve fluency in Spanish, he discovered a passion for traveling, David visited Puebla Mexico to practice his Spanish meeting whom he considered a brother, Carlos Lozada.

In 2001 on May 5th, 2001, He met his wife, Feliz Mauk, at his childhood Church Cypress Bible Church. Married July 20th, 2002 and 3 amazing kids, Vancie, David and Frank, whom He was always so proud of.

In 2007, He became founder and owner of Jones Road Tree Service, a proud Certified Arborist, proud member of International Society of Arboriculture and Tree Care Industry Association, earning multiple certifications, mentoring his crews, and attending multiple conferences. Meeting lifelong friends Lisa and George Pogue, Amy and Tyler Burkett, Heather Dirksen, and Joe Pipitone and many others, whom he considered family.

David's hobbies included fishing at Aunt Sophie's Lake, enjoying shooting with his sons, traveling to Santo Tx, every thanksgiving with his Uncle Bubba, traveling to Mexico every December for Christmas memories with his family over the past several years.

David was a great man of faith, who never missed a mass service, participated in Acts retreat, mentor to many, and always strived for perfection. He will be dearly missed and His memory will forever be a blessing to those who knew Him.

David is survived by his wife, Feliz Mauk; his children, Vancie, David, and Frank; his brother, Michael Mauk; and his cousins, Rhea and Kristy Gilbert.

He was preceded in death by Callie and Bob Mauk, Lucille Gilbert, Aunt Janie, and Uncle Walter.
