David Lampert's Obituary
?Dave was born in Rapid City, South Dakota, in pre-war times and moved to Los Angeles so that his dad could work in the defense plants. On David's 6th birthday, the family relocated and drove to the small logging town of Boonville, California. While in high school, he relocated again to Cloverdale, California. He later married and had three children, Susan, Jim, and Gina, whom he dearly loved.
Dave began his career in banking as a teller for Bank of America and progressed to being in charge of creating and implementing the training program for international executives for the bank. This also entailed traveling around the country to the best colleges and interviewing and selecting 80 of the top MBAs for the program. These executives would eventually open new offshore branches in places such as Russia, South America, and the Middle East. He was located at the Bank of America World Headquarters in San Francisco.
After his success in the training department, he was asked to head up the program of setting up the first offshore implementation of computers for Bank of America in London, England, where he met his current wife, Bobbie. Dave and Bobbie moved back to California in 1975 and owned and operated a 50 acre resort with a bar, restaurant, golf course, lake, and campground.
In 2001, Dave and Bobbie relocated to Conroe, Texas, where, being Dave, he never met a stranger and made so many really special friends.
Dave leaves behind his three children, Susan (Graham) Bench of Livermore, CA, Jim (Cindy) Lampert of Cloverdale, CA, and Gina (Mark) Hamilton of Livermore, CA; his sister, Kathleen Kephart; his brother, Hub Lampert; eight wonderful grandchildren, Christopher and Chelsi Long, Jamie Ogiamien, Seth Lampert, Ciaran and Tristan Bench, and Ava and Lia Hamilton; and one great-granddaughter, Olivia Ogiamien.
He also leaves behind his wife of 41 years, Bobbie, who he called "his everything" and introduced to everyone as "his personal supervisor."
Dave was kind, sweet, funny, always smiling, and loved life. He will be missed by many family and friends.
A service celebrating his life will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, February 13, at Klein Funeral Home - Magnolia, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354.
