David Randall Lamberth went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2021, at the age of eighty-six (86) years. He was born on December 29, 1934, in Geneva, Texas, to Myrtis and Lora Lamberth, and was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sheron Ann Trahan Lamberth, his sister, Lillian Gentry, brothers-in-law, John Gentry and Bill Nelson.

He is survived by his sons, Ross C. Lamberth (Debbie Mullikin) and Jeff C. (Paula) Lamberth, his granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth Lamberth, and his grandson, Luke David Lamberth (his namesake). He is also survived by his sisters, Lita (Bart) Guinn and Francine Nelson, his nephews, Craig W. (Katie) Gentry, Steven D. Gentry, Wade C. (Sara) Guinn and his niece, Marilyn Guinn (Rashid) Skaf and their son, Christian.

Dave was a member of Second Baptist Church – West Houston. He enjoyed studying the Bible, expounding upon his faith, engaging in discussions with Pastor Roger Parker, and watching Dr. Ed Young on TV when he could not attend the service in person. Dave proudly served our country in the Korean War as a member of the Army, being stationed in Korea and Japan. He was an executive with Gulf Oil Corporation (now Chevron/Texaco), and after retirement, spent his time at the family's ranch in Plantersville "Squirrel Hill", with his horses, cows and dogs, as well as "Squirrel Hill – West" in Houston.

Dave is also survived by his very close friend, Rodd Guillory and his wife, Lolita. He expressed often to Ross and Jeff that he was extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful friend to himself and his family. He was so proud and at peace that Rodd chose to purchase Squirrel Hill for his own family to carry on its legacy for future generations.

Dave was a licensed commercial pilot and enjoyed flying in the clouds to obtain almost perfect peace. He loved fishing, hunting (especially in the Yukon), snow skiing, classic cars, traveling and his dogs, Cookie and Cutter. Above all, he cherished playing golf with his sons, his grandchildren and his buddies. Dave's favorite golf outing and the one that he looked forward to playing in every year, was Dr. Norman Berkman's Father/Son, Father/Daughter Golf Tournament benefitting the kids in First Tee. He was honored to play with Dr. Berkman and his son, Eric, in the inaugural event and for many years thereafter. Then, kept playing as the leader of possibly the first "three generation" team in the event's history.

Dave loved all sports and each new challenge, but was sometimes prone to accidents. Special thanks to his orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Henry J. Blum, who was always willing to repair the damage for the next adventure. He became ill in January 2020, but due to the amazing efforts of Dr. Philip L. Leggett and his colleagues, Dave thoroughly enjoyed the "extra" year of his life with his family and friends.

His infectious smile will be sorely missed. He was an outstanding teacher and mentor to his sons, nephews and nieces, but especially his grandchildren. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments and was always the first to call with congratulations. As he said to Ross and Jeff, he is now in Heaven with his Ludski (Sheron), his loved ones, and most important, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Visitation will be held at Klein Funeral Home – Tomball on Monday, January 18 from 6-8 pm, with the funeral services to be held on Tuesday, January 19 at 10 am, Pastor Roger Parker officiating, with internment to follow at Earthman Resthaven Cemetery. On behalf of Ross and Jeff, we sincerely appreciate everyone that came to know our father, his smile, his laughter, and his quirks. He loved life and all people. We know that he is our newest guardian angel and will be watching over and protecting us until we meet again in Heaven.
