David Mark Koonce, 58, of Cypress Texas, passed away February 2, 2022 at Methodist Hospital in Houston Texas of severe brain trauma.

His sudden passing is an overwhelming loss to family and friends and all will miss his kindness and willingness to help others.

David was born on June 15, 1963 to Allen and Mary Ruth Koonce in Corpus Christi, Texas. He is the youngest of 3 children. At a very young age he loved to make things from stuff he would find in the trash. He was so mechanically inclined and after working at Goodyear as a mechanic he worked at Compac which became Hewlett Packard. He worked as a mechanical and electrical engineer designing server racks.

He is survived by is wife, Jamie Koonce, son Dustin Koonce and son in law Josh Hernandez; sister Becky Meyer; adopted mom, Ruth Howard; adopted dad, Bill Gibson; many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and coworkers he considered family.

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.
