David James Hibert went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 25, 2021. He was 56 years and 1 day old. David was born in New Orleans and raised in Metairie, LA. He graduated from Alfred Bonnabel High School in Kenner, LA in 1983, then attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he graduated in 1987, with a bachelor's degree in Criminology. David moved to Houston, Texas, where he joined the Houston Police Department in June 1990 with Class #140. After earning his master's degree in Behavioral Sciences from University of Houston-Clear Lake in 1999, he became an adjunct instructor with Midwestern State University and Lone Star College. David also served on the 179 ^th State District Court Grand Jury in October 1999. In June 2011, David retired as a Sergeant from the Houston Police Department.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward James Hibert, mother, Shirley Mae Bellocq Hibert, and sister Sharon Hibert LaBorde. David leaves behind his loving wife, Diane Drennan Hibert and beloved children:  Katherine, Michael, and Kristen. He is also survived by his brother, Thomas Hibert (Susan) and sister, Sandra Jung (David), as well as numerous extended family. David was diagnosed with ALS in September 2020 but lost his short battle from complications on October 25.
