David Albert Fortier, 68, of Brookshire, passed away June 24, 2023. He was born December 3, 1954, in St. Louis, MO to the late Albert B. Fortier and Zulette McElroy Fortier.
He is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Krieger; nephew, Christian Krieger and wife Jerusha and their sons Emery and Austin; niece, Becky Becker and husband Robb and their children Aubrey and Deven; mother-in-law, Clare Damerow; sister-in-law, Barbara Fields and children Roy, Monica, and Melody; brother-in-law, Paul Damerow and wife Belinda and their sons Scott and Brian; uncle, Jesse McElroy and wife Francie; cousins, Ann Noble and husband David, Barbara Wright, Cindy Gresham, Kathy Mier and husband Don, Malcolm Matthews and wife Peggy, Chris Adams and Rudy Gomez, Tracy McElroy; and a host of friends from, Tarrytowne Estates, Oak Park Retirement Resort, Grandlakes Presbyterian Church and Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church..
Including his parents, he was preceded in death by wife and love of his life Lynn Damerow Fortier.
David was born in St. Louis but had the opportunity to live in a multitude of places to include New Orleans, Milwaukee Wisconsin, Houston, Dallas, and finally Katy. He graduated from Lee High School in Houston and then attended Sam Houston State University where he was an outstanding member of the Alpha Phi Omega Service Fraternity. His career included time with H&K in Dallas, Exxon-Mobil in Houston, as well as various contract jobs. David was a faithful member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and most recently Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church in Katy. David was an avid volunteer with various Alzheimer Groups, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Can Care, and was a SOAR mentor with Spring Branch ISD. David loved the time spent with his parents in their home on Del Monte Drive and the time spent with Lynn, his beloved wife of 42 years. He is once again united with them in Heaven.
