David Darryl Davenport, loving husband, devoted father, and proud grandfather went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 72.

David was born on March 20, 1948 in Shickshinny, Pennsylvania to Ray and Alice Davenport.

On May 30, 1970, in Nashville, Tennessee, he married Dianne Elizabeth Andrews—the woman he spent his life loving and serving. Together, they raised two children, Jeff and Amy, and watched as their children had families of their own. David was "Pops" to Amy's children, Jonah, Chloe, Wyatt, and Molly and Jeff's children, Charlotte and Juliette. He was respected and adored by his daughter's husband, Jeremy McFarland, and his son's wife, Kristin.

David spent his life focused on how to live out his faith by loving and serving his family and friends.

He worked in the transportation industry for all of his adult life, overseeing a wide variety of employees, guiding and mentoring them in their careers.

David served as a Deacon at Champion Forest Baptist Church where he worked with the Widow's Ministry, helped at Gospel Lakes Ranch, and ensured that anyone with a need at the church received what they needed. He was a faithful and active part of the Faith Encouragers Life Group, overseeing their prayer ministry.

All who knew David saw how much he loved God and lived to love and serve other people. Selfless to the end, he spent his life considering the needs of others and then acting on those needs.

David was preceded in death by his father, Ray, and his mother, Alice.

He is survived by Dianne, his beloved wife of 50 years, his children and his grandchildren.

David Davenport leaves behind a shining, bright legacy of faith in God and love in action.
