Davey "Dave" Ross passed away on October 28th, 2024 just hours prior to his 67th birthday. He was born in Weatherford TX to parents Frank J Ross and Amma A Ross.

Baptized as a young man at First Baptist Church of Dunedin Florida, Dave was also a member of Jersey Village Baptist Church in Houston TX.

As a young man Dave was an excellent athlete at both baseball and golf. While neither led to a career he participated for fun well beyond his high school years. His professional career was spent primarily as a well tenured employee of Steel Supply, L.P. mostly as a purchasing agent for "all things pipe fitting related".

Dave was an avid deer hunter but his true passion was fishing, primarily in the Gulf of Mexico, either at Port Mansfield or Baffin Bay. Some of the best memories are from sitting around the fire after a long day of fishing and/or hunting. Just don't ask him to back up the boat trailer! He will be missed.

As a single man, Dave was frequently referred to as "Uncle Dave". He loved dearly his two nieces, Allison Ross and Kaylee Ross as well as his nephew, Corey Ross. Most recently his attention often went to his great nephew, Carter Ross. Dave was an overall sports fan and enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and his Houston Astros, especially when they win! Recent travels took him on a bucket list trip from Vancouver, B.C. to Alaska and Hawaii.

Dave is survived by his mother Amma A Ross, Sister Pam Ross, Brother Don Ross, sister-in-law Kim Ross, 2 nieces, one nephew and his great nephew. He was proceeded in death by his father, Frank J Ross.

While cancer took his life, it did not take away a lifetime full of memories. Friends and family are spread far and wide but make no mistake, Dave was loved by many. To quote lyrics from his favorite band, The Grateful Dead, "Fare Thee Well". His suffering is over.
