Darlyne VeLoise Hanchett Sodders, a cherished wife, devoted mother, proud grandmother, and dear friend, peacefully passed away on May 15, 2023, at the age of 74. Born in Kansas City, Kansas, to Dale W. Hanchett and Virginia Lee Hanchett, Darlyne's journey was one defined by love, resilience, and a spirit of travel.
Growing up as an only child, Darlyne welcomed Naomi Jo Hanchett into her life when her parents divorced, forging a bond that brought warmth and joy. Actively involved in the Student Congress and National Honor Society, Darlyne left an indelible mark on those who knew her.

They embarked on a beautiful journey, residing in Minneapolis, Dallas, and Oklahoma before finally settling in Houston, Texas. In their 52 years of marriage, they lovingly raised their daughters, Danielle VeLoise and Whitney Nicole.

Darlyne's unwavering dedication as a wife and mother was evident in her love for crafting and her enthusiasm for family vacations. From traversing the vast expanse of the United States in their trusty travel van to enjoying tranquil retreats at their beloved Mexican timeshare resorts, she and Tommy reveled in the joy of relaxation. As their daughters grew, their adventures continued, creating treasured memories on tropical getaways shared with their families.
Her heart swelled with pride for her granddaughters, Morgan, Cameryn, and Jillian. Darlyne's support shone through as she attended their school activities showering them with love and encouragement.
Throughout her life, Darlyne held a special affection for animals, particularly dogs. From their first faithful companion, Punkin, who accompanied Darlyne and Tommy in their early years of marriage, to the cherished yorkies Peachie, Piper and many others. Her love for these furry friends was boundless.
