Daniel Yearwood Vaughn was born September 1st, 1987 in Houston, Texas. On Sunday April 26, 2020 at the age of 32 Daniel passed away a t his home surrounded by loved ones having succumbed to cancer following a 10-year battle with brain tumors. He grew up in Cypress, Texas. Daniel's achievements would start at an early age. At only 15, Daniel earned the rank of Eagle Scout; at 17 earned his Black Belt in Taekwondo, before graduating from Cy-fair high school in 2006. His crowning achievement would, of course, be his hard-earned Law degree at 27 . Daniel, being an adventurous individual, attended several colleges beginning with Stephen F. Austin before transferring to Texas State, and eventually returning to his home town to attend Lone Star College and successfully graduating with a General Studies Degree from UHD despite the tragic loss of his eye sight during his junior year. Even with the loss of his sight Daniel continued on to thrive in academia and was accepted into law school at Thurgood Marshal in Houston Texas where he graduated summa cum laude in May 2017. Although Daniel was only here a short time, his life was full and in the wake of his passing are countless lives who were left inspired by his strength. Although faced with his own challenges, he always thought of others first saying during a televised interview prior to his law school graduation that "[he] now had the tools to help others" and going on to say that "It's the first peak of many mountains I'm going to climb".
