Daniel J. Van Soestberg of Conroe, TX age 76, passed away peacefully at home with his wife and children at his side. He passed into the arms of Jesus on December 23, 2022, after 9 years with ALS. Dan was born September 30, 1946, in Grand Rapids, MI and is preceded in death by his parents J Stewart and Margaret Van Soestberg, and other loved family members.

Dan graduated Union high School, Grand Rapids, in 1964 and served in the USAF from 1964 to 1968. He was stationed at Yokoda, AFB, Japan, working as a photo reconnaissance interpreter during the Vietnam War.

Upon returning home he met and married his sweetheart Mary on October 10, 1969. He graduated Ferris State University with a business/marketing degree. He went onto work for General Foods, Johnson & Johnson, and retiring from Revlon, INC after 25 years as VP Sales. His love for business took he and his family to Louisville, KY, Seattle, WA, Yardley, PA, and back to MI. Retirement brought a move to Bentwater golf community near Houston, TX where he and Mary resided until ALS took away his ability to play golf or drive his precious Sophie around in the Gogo cart. Dan was presently living in Conroe, TX when he lost the battle with ALS.

Dan is survived by his wife, Mary of 53 years, children Julie R. Denning(David), son Mark D. Van Soestberg(Valerie), grandchildren Sophie J. Denning, David M. Denning III, and Vivienne G. Van Soestberg. sister Becky Feldt(Larry), sister in law Barbara Zoodsma, brother in law Ronald J. Feenstra(Phyllis), sister in law Ruth Bloom(Russell and many nieces and nephews, great and great greats.

We would like to mention how helpful to VA has been throughout these past few years. In lieu of flowers Dan Requested donations to be made to the (DAV) Disable American Veterans or (PVA) Paralyzed Veterans of America.

A memorial service will be held January 13, 2023, at First Presbyterian Church, Conroe, TX at 10am with Dr. Green officiating.
