Daniel Paul Matthews, 62, of Spring Texas, passed away April 2nd, 2024.  Daniel was born August 26th, 1961, in Newport, Rhode Island to the late Daniel R. Matthews and Louise Mary (Silvestri) Matthews.

Daniel is survived by his loving wife Cora J. Matthews; daughter, Hannah L. Matthews, daughter, Felicia Bush – Scholze, stepson, Diego R. Castaños; brother, Wayne Matthews; niece, Sarah M. Matthews, nephew, John P. Matthews, nephew, Brian Matthews, niece, Shelby Matthews, great niece, Karma Matthews – Sage, great nephew, Jasper Libby; numerous co-workers and friends.

Including his parents Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Burke, sister, Mary Burke, brother, Richard Matthews and nephew Chase Matthews.

Daniel has dedicated the past 7 years to cleaning schools across Klein ISD. He worked hard to ensure the schools he worked at were clean and organized for a successful school year. After the first couple of years of working for KISD he was moved to Zwink Elementary school to which he instantly connected with the students and staff and was quick to become part of the family. Daniel often showed up early for work just to make sure he could say hello to everyone before they left for the day. He loved the students and staff very deeply and tried his best to keep a friendly and lighthearted environment so that everyone felt at home at Zwink.

Daniel loved listening to music in his pastime. Some of his favorite bands included KISS, Black Sabbath, Queen, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and so much more. He shared his love of music with his family and had a collection of upwards of 1,000 CDs and cassettes. If Daniel was not listening to music he was often watching reruns of  baseball, football, or basketball from the 80s or 90s. Daniel loved the Red Sox, New York Giants, and the Boston Celtics.

The family will receive visitors Thursday, April 11th, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm at Klein Funeral Home Tomball. The Vigil and Rosary Services will begin at 7pm.  Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 12th, 2024, at 11am at St. Ignatius, 7810 Cypresswood Drive Spring, Texas, 77379 with Fr. Norbert presiding. Reception to follow. Interment will take place at Klein Memorial Park 2920 at 2pm.

Serving as pallbearers are Daniel's brother Wayne Matthews; stepson Diego R. Castaños; friends Jose Olmedo, Alan Rudolff, Albert Feliz, and Tito Muniz.
