Obituary

Daniel Glen Key, 71, was ushered into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, February 20, 2022. Born in Houston, Texas on January 22, 1951, Dan spent the majority of his life living in the Houston area. Married 39 years, he resided 37 years in Spring, Texas with his loving wife, Angie, where he brought up his three sons, Boone, Adam, and Austin, in the Lord, all of them receiving Christ as their Savior at a young age..
Dan grew up as one of four children in Houston, Texas, and was well known for being a prankster, a joke-teller, a loyal family member, a generous friend, and most importantly, a follower of Christ. The qualities that he most valued and lived out were his faith in Christ, honesty, and generosity.
Growing up, Dan loved sports, especially baseball and football. In the days leading up to his passing, you would still find him reminiscing on his high school football days. Dan had many jobs including working as a singer/entertainer at Astroworld, carpenter, insurance adjuster which led to him starting his own business, Key Claim Service. Later, Dan became a legal videographer in the early days of the industry and started ADK-courthouse VIDEO. As a younger man his hobbies included photography, duck hunting, deer hunting, and fishing. As he got older he enjoyed watching those same activities along with home renovation shows from the comfort of his living room and providing commentary on how the hunters, fishermen, and carpenters on TV could be doing things better.
The summer after finishing high school, Dan went to FCA camp in Colorado at the invitation of his friend, Greg English, and it was there that he committed his life to Christ. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring, Texas for 20 years where he taught 5th grade Sunday School for many years. He sent his three children to Trinity Lutheran School through the 8th grade. For the past 16 years, Dan and Angie have been active members at New Haven House of Prayer where Dan served as a watchman and greeter.
Dan was a loving husband, father, a loving "Grumpy" to his grandchildren, brother, son, uncle, and friend. If he liked you, you would know no end to his teasing. This world will miss Danny's many stories, puns, and "Dad Jokes."
Danny joins his mother, Mary "Meme" Lee Box; father Vernon Key; sister, Phyllis (Key) Harris in eternal rest.
Danny is survived by his wife Angie of 39 years; sons Boone (Macie) Smith, Adam Key, Ph.D., Austin (Sarah) Key; grandsons Brennan, Calvin, and Gilbert Smith; sister Janet (Martin) Allen, brother Charles (Linda) Key; many nieces, nephews, and countless lives he has touched.
Danny would want you to know that his life is not over, that he is living out the rest of eternity in the presence of his Lord, and that eternal life is a free gift that anyone can have. Through his testimony and fearless faith, Danny helped lead many friends and family to know the Lord. All of us who love Danny and Jesus look forward to joining them one day in Heaven.

Acts 4:12 - " Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. "
Matthew 25: 21 - "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!''
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at New Haven House of Prayer
