Obituary

Daniel Lee (Dan) Farnsworth passed away unexpectedly on December 12, 2024, at the age of 68 from complications after cardiac surgery.

Dan was born on March 2, 1956, to B.K. and Betty Ann (Pullen) Farnsworth in Jacksonville, FL. The oldest of three children, Dan's family also included his brother Christopher and his sister Diane.

The family moved frequently to multiple Navy outposts, including Florida, California, Kansas, and Morocco, eventually settling in Corpus Christi, Texas.

One of Dan's great loves was the water; he spent many hours throughout his life swimming, surfing, fishing, or simply enjoying the beach. He loved a variety of music, frequently listening to tunes from the 70's during frequent drives to the beach with his surf buddies in his father's hand-me-down '65 Oldsmobile 442.  His love of music expanded to guitar playing and asking "Siri" to play his favorites. Dan enjoyed sports of all kinds, continuing to play pick-up basketball games for years, respected by his peers for his "sweet jump shot."

Dan graduated from Richard King High School in 1974 and continued his education at Del Mar Community college in Corpus Christi. After obtaining his associate's degree, he began a long career in the oil and gas industry. His work in engineering and piping design eventually led to a passion for technology and embracing the future of computer-aided design.

After a career opportunity in Saudi Arabia, he relocated back to Corpus Christi to be close to his family. He met and married his first wife, Cindi, and they had two children, Keri and Kevin. His family relocated to Victoria, TX, where he began working for Invista.

In 2006, Dan relocated to Houston, where he met and eventually married his loving partner, Brenda. They wed in 2013 on the island of Saint Thomas. Their lives were full of family, wonderful "foodie" experiences, world travel, and RV trips; they loved seeking out the best beaches they could find, particularly those in Key Largo, the Cayman Islands, and many others.

Dan is survived by his wife, Brenda; his siblings, Chris and Zina Farnsworth, and Diane Farnsworth; his mother-in-law, Wanda Booth; his children, Keri and Michael Ruiz, Kevin and Morgan Farnsworth, Erin and Nathan Cooley, Chelsea Phillips Sibert and Matt Sibert, Katelyn and Connor Anderson; his beloved grandchildren, Charlotte, Milo, Lyra, Charles, Moira, and Lillian; his nephew, Nick and Rachel; his niece, Kristen and Stewart and son Patton; niece, Katie and Jared Shepperd; brother-in-law Steve and Becky Booth, and other family members and friends.

His presence, generosity, easy laugh, and compassionate and loving nature will be deeply missed.

A private celebration of his life will be held after the first of the year. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Services. Donate to Our Heart Program | Heart and Vascular
