Dana Dea Poland, born in Wichita, Kansas, passed away in Cypress, Texas, on December 2, 2025. A devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather, Dana lived a life full of kindness, warmth, and quiet strength.

He found joy in life's simple rhythms: the whisper of the wind, ripples on the water, the stillness of the woods, and the stars above while camping with family. Books were his constant companions, and he could slip into a story as easily as stepping into sunlight. Some of his fondest memories were boating on the lake, sharing stories around a campfire, and traveling in his RV. His happiest moments were always spent with his family, those he loved most.

Though often quiet, Dana could be wonderfully goofy, lighting up a room with his humor. He loved his family above all else and cherished his dogs. To those who knew him, he was a calm harbor, a reliable hand, and a man who would do anything for his loved ones.
Dana is survived by his wife of 48 years, Kathleen Poland; his three children, Caleb, Brianna, and Danay, and their spouses—Tara, Brandon, and Craig; and his five grandchildren, Levi, Samantha, Jayren, Charlee, and Conrad. He is also survived by his brother, Lane Poland, and Lane's children, Sharayah and Shalisah, and their children, Bennett, Della, Dean, Abbigale, and Landon. Dana is also survived by numerous cousins across the United States.

One of Dana's favorite sayings was, "Everything in its place, and a place for everything." He reflected on the words of James 3:13: "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom." Dana embodied these words throughout his life—through love, humility, and quiet faith.

His life reflected simplicity, devotion, and a humble heart. Dana will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the waters he loved, the stars he camped beneath, and the hearts of those who knew him.
