Dear Friends ,

It is with a mixture of sadness and gladness that we share with you the passing of Dallas Chapman Westmoreland, Jr ., on the morning of August 5, 2021 , at the very young age of 82 . He woke that morning and said , " I love you " to his wife . L ater that morning he helped her bring in the groceries and put away the bottled water , stood by the backdoor, closed his eyes and then opened them to see the face of Jesus.

Dallas was a much loved husband to Beverly Thompson Westmoreland for 63 years ; father to Alison Colleen Westmoreland and Kimberly Ann Kirtley (Michael) ; grandfather to Dallas Lynn Hockla, Jennifer Kirtley Cooley (Bobby) and Julie Kirtley Gruss (Andrew) ; great grandfather to Cheri Lynn Hockla , Charlie Cooley, Chandler Mae Cooley , Chapman West Cooley, Leo Gruss and Lydia Gruss ; brother to Ela Hughe s (Bill) , Joan Townsend , and Jean Calligan (Craig) , uncle to many nieces and nephews along with countless other friends all of whom he made feel like family. He is preceded in death by his parents Dallas Chapman, Sr. , and M arian Elaine , brother B e rt Westmoreland , and sister Sharon McCarty .

For 28 years, Dallas served the citizens of Montgomery County as a member of the law enforcement community. Beginning in Adult , and then Juvenile Probation , with the last years as Chief Deputy Constable Precinct 5 for Constable David Hill, now retired.   He spent four years as Administ rator of Romanian Christian Enterprises in Arad , Romania , working with a group of churches in the United States to improve the lives of Romania's orphan population , and developing a " pay it forward " program among the farmers in the Arad area. Dallas retired from public service in 2000 so he could " just be ."

Visitation on Tuesday, August 10, from 1:00pm – 2:0 0pm at Klein Funeral Home , located at 1400 W. Main Street in Tomball, Texas , f ollowed by Graveside Service and Interment at 3:00p m at Klein Memorial Park , 32539 SH 249 Pinehurst, Texas.
