Obituary

Cynthia Hamilton Courtemanche, age 90, entered eternal rest and joined the faithful on July 4, 2026.

Born on March 11, 1936, in Knoxville, Tennessee, Cynthia was the cherished daughter of the late Stanley Weston Hamilton and Martha Humphries Hamilton. From an early age, she demonstrated a caring spirit that would define her life's work and the way she loved those around her.

Cynthia pursued her passion for helping others by earning her bachelor's degree in nursing from the Hartford Hospital School of Nursing. Following graduation, she began her nursing career at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, where she faithfully cared for countless patients. During her years in Connecticut, Cynthia remained devoted to her Lutheran faith and formed many lifelong friendships within her church community, neighbors and nursing classmates.

Throughout her life, Cynthia found great joy in traveling, but nothing brought her greater happiness than spending time with her family. She was her grandchildren's biggest supporter, rarely missing a sporting event or dance recital, school programs, horse shows or special milestone. Her love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was immeasurable, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

After relocating to Texas, Cynthia continued her lifelong commitment to serving others by volunteering for many years at Houston Northwest Hospital. Her compassionate heart, gentle nature, and willingness to help made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.

Cynthia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Michael Paul Courtemanche; her parents, Stanley Weston Hamilton and Martha Humphries Hamilton; her cousin, Dale Hamilton, and his wife, Jean; brother-in-law, Gerry Andriolatos; and her son-in-law, Thomas Lee Hudson.

She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters, Laura Brunson and Sarah Hudson; her grandchildren, Jessica Brunson Jarrett and husband Kevin, Erica Brunson Schertz and husband Dusty, Meredith Brunson Seifert and husband Dustin, Chase Paul Hudson, Payton Nicole Hudson, and Matthew Anthony Garcia; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Blake, Malone, Knox, Kneilee, Stratton, and Sawyer; her sister, Cheryl Andriolatos; nieces, Eleni and Martha; and, cousins Brad and Heather.

Cynthia will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her compassionate heart, her dedication to caring for others, and the unconditional love she shared with her family. Her kindness, grace, and generous spirit will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the promise of eternal life and in the many cherished memories she leaves behind.
