It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Curtis A. Matthews, 81, of Houston, Texas on November 8, 2020. He was so loved as a husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He has now joined his beloved wife, Judy, in Heaven. Curtis served his country in the Army as a 1st lieutenant stationed in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He was a member of the local Scottish Rite Temple and Arabia Shrine Temple chapters. He served his community as a middle school and high school teacher for most of his career. He coached football and baseball, as well. He loved sports, hunting, fishing, and mostly loved talking with his buddies over a morning coffee. He quietly created a legacy of helping others and putting others first that will live on for generations. He is survived by his only child, Jill Folkerts, her husband, Elliott and their two children, Gavin and Kate.
