Cristy Howell Hayes 56 a native of Baton Rouge, La. was a proud graduate of Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, followed by a diploma in French Language from Alliance Francaise in Lyon, and most recently rounded out her educational career earning a Masters of Business Administration from New England College. She flourished in a long career of medical writing and editing for specialist and hospitals in and around the Houston area, as well as website and social media content development.
Cristy's continual pursuit of knowledge and advancement held no comparison to her passion of being a devoted wife and mother - by far her most proud accomplishment.
Far too soon she joined her father Wilson Howell, brother Wil Howell and grandfather Cecil C. Hubbard in heaven April 26, 2022. She is survived by her husband of 30 wonderful years Gary Stephen Hayes, sons Alex Stephen Hayes, Matthew Spencer Hayes and 4 legged son Atlas. Mother Elva Howell, sister Wendy Howell Freeman (Jamie), nephew Jonah Howell. She was blessed with an extended family she adored. She was a loving daughter-in-law to Stephen and Gussie Hayes and sister-in-law to Michael Hayes (Lynn), Peter Hayes (Susan), Elizabeth Hayes, Sandra Hayes Strack (Edward), and Robin Hayes Rogers (Richard), and many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Cristy will long be remembered for her impeccable sense of style, fierce attitude, strong willed opinion of all things she was passionate about, and her undeniable love for her family and friends. Her days were filled researching and writing, walking miles on the beaches of Sargent, riding countless laps on her bike through the neighborhood, planting flowers and herbs around the pool, taking Atlas for car rides through town, planning their next vacation venture and above all her endless determination to ensure Gary, Alex and Mathew wanted for nothing. While most people are starting to look forward to retirement Cristy wasn't having any part of that and was in constant pursuit of her next business project. Selfless, energetic, beautiful - inside and out.
A celebration of her beautiful life will be held Thursday May 5th at 2pm, Cinco de Mayo, at Klein Funeral Home 16131 Champion Forest Drive Klein, Texas. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a favorite charity and just be kind to one another.
