Neil was born on January 4th, 1950 to Cornelius Solt Sr. and Ruth Wood Solt in Fairlawn, NJ.  After Neil graduated from Fairlawn High School in 1968, he went on to wrestle in college, before enlisting in the U.S. Army. While in the military, he earned his honors as a Special Forces Green Beret and served from 1969-72, specializing as a Demolitions Expert. He was proud of his service until the day he died.

When returning from the military, him and his love, Catherine Penna, married in New Jersey, and spent time in Michigan, before ultimately settling in Cypress, Texas. Here they raised their three children, Neil, Jennifer & Stephen, living in three different houses around Cypress during that time. In 1987 he started Karma Graphics, a small printing business. Through his and Cathy's hard work and dedication, it grew into a business that provided for his family for 35 years.

Cathy was the love of his life, and he lived for her through over 50 years of marriage. They loved, they laughed, they bickered and cried together. Theirs was a love that was lasting and deep, and Cathy will greatly miss her companion, protector and her best friend.

One of Neil's greatest sources of pride were his children, their spouses and his grandchildren. He loved to watch them in their own love stories, and achieving professional success, and could not brag enough. His first son, Neil married Shauna Lammers in 2001, and they have 3 children: Joshua (19), Reagan (15) and Nathan (12). Jennifer married Andrew Middleton in 2005 and together they have two children: Olivia (13) and Bennett (9).  Finally, his second son, Stephen married Jamie Clark in 2011 and together they have three children: Connor (6), Logan (4) and Mason (2).

Also celebrating his life and mourning his loss are his siblings, Bobby, Ginny, Carolyn and Jane and her husband Don Fritzsch, his sister-in-law Lynda Clark and her husband Bud Clark. All of their children and grandchildren, his many nieces and nephews will also miss him greatly. The list of individuals who will miss Neil's zeal for life, his passion for his family and friends and his willingness to take in and support every person who needed it, is endless. He was the type of person who would drop anything he was doing to help another, family or not.  He loved getting in trouble with his grandchildren, cooking food to deliver to people all around town, "piddling" around his house, and collecting "treasures".

Neil's love for all things family and friends is reciprocated ten-fold and he will never be forgotten. He was truly one of a kind.
